Eastover walnut kitchen

Walnut · 42 linear feet · 9 weeks

A 1938 house with a kitchen that had been remodeled twice and worked neither time. We removed a chimney chase, rebuilt the run in walnut with full-inset doors and set a 10-foot island in a single slab. Every drawer front was cut from sequential boards so the grain runs across the bank.

Dilworth study wall

White oak · 14 feet wide · 6 weeks

A dead wall between two windows became a lit library with a working desk return. Shelves are 1 1/8" thick to hold an eight-foot span without sag, and the LED channels are routed into the front edge so no fixture is visible from the room.

Drawer shop standard

Solid maple · dovetailed · every job

Not a project — a standard. Every drawer that leaves McVaney Road is solid maple, machine-dovetailed, sanded to 180 and finished inside and out. It is the single most common reason clients tell us our quote came in above the box-store bid.

Myers Park butler's pantry

Painted poplar · 11 feet · 5 weeks

Glass uppers with true divided lights, a zinc-topped serving counter and a hidden appliance garage behind a tambour door. Finish is a warm off-white conversion varnish matched to the client's existing trim.

Davidson mudroom lockers

Painted maple · 4 bays · 4 weeks

Four lockers with lift-lid benches, a boot drawer under each and hooks set at two heights for a family with young kids. Sized to the ceiling so nothing collects dust on top.

SouthPark primary closet

Rift white oak · 2 rooms · 7 weeks

His-and-hers wardrobe interiors with jewelry drawers, a linen-lined valet and a bench island. Interiors in prefinished maple, exteriors in rift-sawn white oak with a hardwax oil finish.
