Terms of Service
The terms that govern use of this website and the supply of millwork services by Kohler Millwork Co.
Last updated: January 8, 2026
1. Who we are
Kohler Millwork Co. is a millwork business owned and operated by Barbara Bodenhamer, located at 3202 McVaney Road, Charlotte, NC 28217, United States. Contact: 828-202-0712, service@lukaskohler.com.
2. Using this website
You may browse, print and share pages of this site for personal or professional reference. You may not copy our photographs, drawings or text for commercial use, scrape the site, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use it for anything unlawful.
3. Information accuracy
Prices, ranges and lead times published here are indicative and based on recent completed work. They are not offers. A binding price exists only in a written quotation signed by both parties. Photographs show our own installed projects; wood is a natural material and grain, color and figure will vary from any photograph.
4. Estimates and quotations
Consultations and written quotations within 45 miles of our shop are free and carry no obligation. A quotation remains valid for 45 days from its date. It covers only the scope described in it; concealed conditions discovered after demolition — rot, out-of-level framing, undocumented plumbing or electrical work — are quoted separately in writing before we proceed.
5. Orders, deposits and payment
- A signed quotation and shop drawings form the contract between us.
- Payment schedule: 40% deposit at signed drawings, 40% at completion of box construction, 20% after the punch list is cleared.
- We accept check, ACH transfer and major credit cards. A 2.9% processing fee applies to card payments above $2,500.
- Invoices are due on receipt. Balances unpaid after 15 days may accrue interest at 1.5% per month, to the extent permitted by North Carolina law.
- Title in delivered goods passes on final payment; risk passes on installation.
6. Changes and cancellation
Change requests must be in writing and are priced before work continues. Because every piece is made to your dimensions, cancellation after material has been cut is subject to charges for materials consumed and labor performed to that date. Cancellation before cutting begins is refunded in full, less any design time already invoiced.
7. Scheduling and access
Install dates depend on your site being ready — floors down, walls painted where required, appliances on site and utilities live. If access is unavailable on the agreed date, we will reschedule to the next open slot and may charge reasonable costs for a wasted trip.
8. Warranty
Installed work carries a twelve-month workmanship warranty as described on our Warranty & Returns page, which forms part of these terms.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of any project is limited to the amount you paid for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, loss of profit or delay caused by other trades. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Intellectual property
Drawings, renderings and design concepts we produce remain our intellectual property. You may keep and use them for your project; they may not be issued to another fabricator for pricing or production without our written permission.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. The courts of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. We ask that you raise any concern with Barbara directly first — almost everything is solved with a phone call.
12. Updates
We may revise these terms; the version in force is the one published on the date your quotation is signed.
