Phone call or form
Day 0
We ask what room, what is wrong with it now, and roughly what you want to spend. If we are not the right shop for the budget, we say so on that call and point you somewhere useful.
Eight stages from your first phone call to a twelve-month warranty visit. This is the same sheet we hand every client at the consultation.
Day 0
We ask what room, what is wrong with it now, and roughly what you want to spend. If we are not the right shop for the budget, we say so on that call and point you somewhere useful.
Days 2–7
Ninety minutes on site. We measure walls, floors and ceilings for square, photograph mechanicals, look at your existing trim, and bring door and finish samples. No charge and no obligation within 45 miles of the shop.
7–10 business days later
You receive plan, elevations, a rendered 3D view and a line-item price. Two rounds of revisions are included. The price is valid for 45 days and does not move afterwards unless you change the scope in writing.
On approval
A 40% deposit reserves your install week and releases material. Final shop drawings are signed by you; the cut list is generated from those drawings only.
4–9 weeks
Panels are cut, boxes assembled, doors fitted, then everything moves to the spray booth. You get photographs by email each Friday so nothing is a surprise on delivery day.
1–5 days
Our own crew — never a subcontracted installer. Floors are protected, dust is contained, tools are packed out each night, and the site is broom-clean daily.
Install day + 1
We walk the room with you and write the list together. Adjustments, touch-ups and hardware tweaks are completed before the final invoice is issued.
12 months
Doors settle and seasons change. One free adjustment visit within the first year, plus a written care sheet for your specific finish.
We keep the schedule simple, and we never ask for money ahead of work performed.
| Stage | Amount | Trigger |
|---|---|---|
| Design retainer | $0 | Consultation and first quote are free |
| Deposit | 40% | Signed drawings, install week reserved |
| Progress | 40% | Boxes built, finish scheduled |
| Final | 20% | Punch list cleared at walkthrough |
We accept check, ACH transfer and major credit cards (a 2.9% processing fee applies to card payments over $2,500). Financing through third-party home-improvement lenders is available on request; Kohler Millwork Co. is not a lender and receives no commission.

Anything you do not have yet, we can help source — we keep relationships with three stone fabricators, two appliance dealers and a hardware supplier in Charlotte.
